Limalinda Farmers Co-operative Society Ltd.

Be the first to review

We are Limalinda Farmers Cooperative Society Ltd, a farmer-led cooperative based in Kariara, Gatanga, Murang’a County, Kenya.

We organize smallholder farmers around avocado production, sustainable agriculture, and farm forestry. Our work focuses on coordinating production, strengthening farming practices, and connecting farmers to structured markets.

Our name reflects our purpose. “Lima” means farm, while “Linda” means protect. Because of this, we combine agricultural production with environmental conservation.

Additionally, we bring farmers together under a shared system that supports collective marketing, capacity building, and sustainable land use.

Our Products and Services

Avocado Production and Aggregation

We coordinate the cultivation, harvesting, and collection of avocados, including Hass and Fuerte varieties.

As a result, farmers supply produce through an organized system that supports consistent handling and structured delivery.

Farmer Training and Extension

We train farmers on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), pest and disease management, post-harvest handling, and farm business skills.

Because of this, farmers improve both production practices and overall farm management.

Farm Forestry and Conservation

We support agroforestry, indigenous tree planting, and soil conservation practices.

This integrates environmental protection directly into farming activities.

Market Access and Export Facilitation

We connect farmers to local markets and international buyers in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

As a result, farmers access broader and more structured markets beyond local trade.

Input Supply Coordination

We organize access to certified seedlings, fertilizers, pest control products, and farming tools.

This allows farmers to source inputs through a coordinated system.

Why Choose Us

Farmer-Led Structure

We operate as a cooperative owned and driven by farmers. This ensures alignment with member priorities.

Integrated System

We combine training, input coordination, production, and market access within one structure.

Because of this, farmers operate within a connected system rather than isolated activities.

Market Linkages

We facilitate access to both local and international markets across multiple regions.

This positions farmers within wider supply chains.

Sustainability Integration

We incorporate farm forestry and conservation into our operations.

As a result, production aligns with long-term environmental practices.

Conclusion

We bring farmers together under a structured system that supports production, training, and market access.

By combining agriculture, coordination, and conservation, we enable smallholder farmers to participate in organized and wider markets.
